PAFS Quiz night

How many boxes are used in the UK version of Deal or No Deal? What is the name of the housing estate where the Trotters live in Only Fools and Horses? What is the world’s smallest bird? These were among the questions that faced our teams at the PAFS quiz night. Much fun was had during the 8 rounds of questions, which included wine-tasting, intros and literature .We all enjoyed a hearty Ploughman’s Supper at half-time. The winning team and proud holders of the Quiz Cup were the Krispy Chasers…many Congratulations go to them! All in all, a very successful evening which raised nearly £700 – these funds will be used to purchase new goalposts and a portable chess/ draughts set for the children to play with outside. Many thanks to everyone who supported this fun event!

The Junior School Disco

On the 1st March 2012 PAFS organised a Junior School Disco for years 3, 4, 5 and 6 with refreshments. Everyone really enjoyed it! There were lots of great songs like Paradise; Coldplay, Domino & Who’s Laughing Now; Jessie J, Firework; Katy Perry and The Muppet Song. Many thanks to PAFS and Simon Harris (the DJ) for the night.

Webcams!

Thank you to everyone that has contributed towards the PAFS fund recently. We wanted to let you know about some of the ways that your money has been spent. As you may know, Year 5/6 have recently made their own animated movies and to make these better, we bought some HD webcams. These meant that the children could move them around into different positions to make their films even better. These cameras were bought from Novatech. This term Year 3/4 will be using them as they recreate the story of Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat!

To see some of the animations from Year 5/6 click on Class 9, Class 10 or Class 11.

Old Uniform for New…

Do you have any spare, unused uniform? Perhaps your child has just finished Cubs, Brownies or ballet and you have some uniform still in good condition that someone else could make good use of? If so, please leave at the school office so that we can use it at our next 2nd hand uniform sale in March.

Don’t forget, ALL profits from our Uniform sale are set aside and will be used for new items of uniform such as a hoody for the Year 6′s when they go on their residential week to Bournemouth..so your support will be greatly appreciated by the children.
Many thanks, Cath and Mel
